Royal Air Force
10 Sqn
RAF Honington, on detachment to RAF Nicosia, Cyprus.
Autumn 1956
Following the Egyptian nationalization of the strategically important Suez Canal in 1956 British and French forces attacked Egyptian targets to gain control of the Sinai Peninsula. All aircraft involved were painted with yellow and black identification markings. The Canberra high-altitude bombers attacked Egyptian airfields from Cyprus and Malta.
This 3d model is an extensive conversion of the Canberra B(I)8 by file404 to a Canberra B.2. The entire front fuselage was remodeled and a new bomber-style cockpit canopy made. Markings and camouflage were painted in Mudbox and GIMP.
