M1097A2 with Improvised Add On Armor, Iraq 2003

M1097A2 HMMWV Task Force 1-7 of the 1st Infantry Division, Bayji, Iraq 2003

Fitted with user level III add-on armor consisting of HARDOX 400 sheet metal. The load area was fitted
with a M197 mounting for an M2A2 HB machine gun.

Note the reflectors on the side of the hood were covered with Duct tape.
In the reference photos I used the tailgate was broken from the hinges on the one side.

This 3D model is a combination of two M998s, one from Mesh Factory and the other from 3d_molier
International. The camouflage was repainted in Mudbox. I added the sheet metal in Wings3D and
painted it in GIMP.
