Painted in Tiger Stripes for the 1971 Tiger Meet, held at Upper Heyford, England

The Association of Tiger Squadrons was established in 1961 to improve relationships between individual squadrons within NATO. Each of these squadrons had a Tigers' head in their squadron crest. The tiger stands as a symbol of strength, speed and hunting prowess.
Each year a 'Tiger Meet' is held at one of the home bases when all other Tiger Squadrons are invited to send representative aircraft and personnel. Starting in 1969 the Canadian Armed Forces painted one of their CF-104s in black and yellow tiger stripes. In later years other countries started painting stripes or other tiger related subjects on one of their participating aircraft.

Unfortunately the tiger modeled here had a very short life. During an air-to-air photo-shoot it collided with the photographer's plane(two-seat CF-104D serial 104668) and crashed.

The 3d model is based on the file404 product with various improvements. The markings were painted in Mudbox and GIMP.
